Refugee Leadership Training Program 2017

SLCC, the Utah Refugee Education and Training Center, and American Express launched the Refugee Leadership Training Program. In the class there are 45 scholars (23 men, 22 women) representing 19 countries now living here in Utah. The 11-week course is designed to teach and instill confidence in refugees to become leaders and spokespersons for their communities.

The Refugee Leadership Training course started in 2009. Since then, more than 250 refugees have graduated. The Leadership Program has had a great impact on the students’ lives and those they support from their communities.
